Second International Workshop on

19-21 October 2010, Zhoushan, Zhejiang, China

The RST workshops are devoted to present the state-of-the-art scientific results about rough sets from the theoretical standpoint. Great importance is dedicated to discussion and included in the workshops there is a round table about foundational and open problems in rough sets theory.

The second RST workshop will be held in Zhejiang Ocean University, Zhoushan, Zhejiang, China, October 19-21, 2010 following the first workshop organized at RST09 and the special sessions on rough sets foundations organized at JRS07 and RSKT08.

The topics of main interest (but not limited to) are:
  • Algebraic structures in rough set theory
  • Category theoretic and philosophical aspects of rough set theory
  • Complexity of rough set-related optimization/decision problems
  • Dynamic information systems
  • Granular information systems
  • Generalization of rough set theory: near sets and nearness approximation spaces
  • Relationship with other paradigms (formal concept analysis, fuzzy sets, Atanassov's IFS,...)
  • Rough logics
  • Rough mereology
  • Rough sets in approximate reasoning
  • Rough sets and ontology approximation
  • Rough sets in reasoning about changes
  • Theoretical aspects of rough entropies
  • Topological and modal approach to roughness
